Lyrics
When I were a boy at the shore at Loch Sloigh
And the miller played a tune for me
It was then he said "You bake the bread,
As i'm off for a pint up Leigh"
So we baked his bread and we grew his veg'
And we were happy as lambs were we
Then the miller returned and he'd got spurned
And it was back to the pub for me
He can mill your life, He can bake your bread
He can play a tidy fiddle can he
So come home miller to the grinding stone
And we'll have a pot of sweet tea
Coz we love your life, and we love your strife
And we love a good chuckle do we
So grab your coat as i've a raspin' throat
And we'll have a quick pint up Leigh
So he had to run. So he upped and ran
To a far away place north-east
They asked him to stay and never go away
And was welcomed at the big man's feast
Come along now do you really need to go
As he'll not raise his kilt for thee
It's a long way down to the dark side of town
With a little wet pint up Leigh
Ripe as a berry and sweet as a cherry
Yet as passive as the queen of bees
To the moon she'd go just to let him know
That her love for that man were real
They were northward bound, Ryan Air for a pound
Sat next to a maiden fair
She 'd begged him to stay
Then flew right away without even the slightest care
Now I must agree with the Miller, Now I must agree
As it won't be long until we're thousands strong
And we'll have a wet pint up Leigh, Or three!
When I were a boy at the shore at Loch Sloigh
And the miller played a tune for me
It was then he said - "You bake the bread,
As i'm off for a pint up Leigh,.Or Three!
